Saturday, June 25th Update
Over the past two weeks, there has been a lot of progress including painting, trim, a fire pit, a lock on the attic door, and more. Below is the latest work, the cement for the front door steps, and the covered porch.
Despite the great progress, the deadline for when the first renters come is July 7th. Pauline shared a list of projects that still need to be done before then.
- Paint 2 more bedrooms
- Finish putting trim along the ceiling in 2 bedrooms.
- Stain the deck.
- Move some furniture.
- Clean!
We are out of weekends before the renters. If anyone can show up on a weekday that would be great.
Who knew the old pines floors would be so stylish. Sprucing them up will be a project for the future.

This is a soon-to-be-installed closet door. Imagine that! Closets AND doors in the bedrooms!
This is a pile of trim for the bedrooms and upstairs hallway. It will cover the gaps between the wood paneling and the ceiling.
Mike installed new hardware on the attic door. Without the carpet to keep it open, and with the new hardware, it will actually lock.

After our initial cleanup in the attic, it has become the storage space for stuff we want to keep in the house, but out of the reach of renters.
The pictures below are of the added trim in that upstairs hallway and in the bedroom at the top of the stairs.
